Education

Dr. Mitchell received her undergraduate education at Howard University in Washington, DC, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics. She continued her education at Howard University, earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2006, followed by completion of her Orthodontic residency in 2008.

Dr. Mitchell practiced orthodontics exclusively for six years in Atlanta, Georgia, during which time she achieved Board Certification from the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction that reflects the highest standards of clinical excellence in the specialty.

In 2014, Dr. Mitchell returned to Howard University to further expand her expertise, completing a second residency in Pediatric Dentistry in 2016. Upon earning Board Certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she achieved the rare distinction of being dual board certified in two dental specialties—an accomplishment attained by only a small number of dentists nationwide.
